Profile
[Soh Ensemble Jisshiki]
This is a koto ensemble group formed by graduates of the Ikuta-ryu koto music major, Department of Japanese Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, and their classmates. The members are from various places in Japan, and they are active in Tokyo and other parts of the country as players of koto, 17 stringed instruments and sangen. The unique "tone" of each member of the different schools was attractive, and the name "Toiro" was chosen based on the characteristics of each member. They are trying to bring traditional music that has been preserved for a long time to many people today, and try to find new possibilities of "koto" in modern music.
