Business Overview

This project focused on Japanese female composers, including Fluxus's Shiomi Mieko, and conducted extensive research. The results were then widely shared through two online events and the publication of a booklet, raising questions among the community about gender-based discriminatory conditions. Collaborators included the aforementioned Shiomi Mieko (artist), Shida Shoko (composer), Takahashi Kaori (sociologist), Miyakoshi Satoko (graphic/editorial designer), and Ashibe Reina (art manager). The bilingual Japanese-English booklet, "The Dialogue: Arts & Women," was distributed both domestically and internationally, with the aim of creating a forum for open discussion of the issue.

Profile

[Conference of Women Composers]
A research collective with the theme of "contemporary musicians and society." It was officially launched in June 2019 following a symposium held in August 2018, in which 8 contemporary music composers participated as panelists, entitled "Mid-career Women Composers Summit (sponsored by the PPP Project)." Based on her experiences living in countries such as Indonesia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States, she has repeatedly researched and discussed the environment surrounding female composers, including gender, freelancing, nationality and ethnicity, and career and marriage.
