Business Overview

With the impact of the coronavirus still continuing, the Ogikubo Music Festival established its own guidelines for measures against the coronavirus and reduced the scale to about 1/3 of the previous scale. For the fourth Ogikubo Youth Ensemble Concert, they started practicing in August, when the COVID-19 pandemic was still high, and with careful infection control measures and the dedicated guidance of their supporting players, they performed well. In addition, as a project for children to participate in concerts, three "Concerts for Parents and Children to Enjoy" were held, and all of them were well received. In the 7th Mirai Dream Concert, the all-Suginami junior high school band participated in the “Brass Band Workshop ” by the NPO Sugenami Children's Support Planning. Haramachi Daiichi Junior High School in Minamisoma City was not able to participate in the event this year, but they performed online and exchanged music via Zoom, sending a message of "Let's stay connected forever."

Profile

[Association of Ogikubo, a Town to Enjoy Classical Music]
The "Association to Think about Ogikubo in the 21 Century" was formed to think and propose how to make Ogikubo easier to live in, such as the improvement of Ogikubo Station and the environmental problems surrounding Ogikubo. From there, the "Ogikubo Music Festival" was started in 2000 with the concept of building and revitalizing Ogikubo through classical music. Since then, an annual music festival has been held continuously.
