Business Overview
Nutomic will perform "JR Joban Line Downtrain" (tentative), a new play by playwright Yanagi Misato, who runs the theater group "Seishun May Party." Director Nukata creates a script for the performance of a play written from the viewpoint of Yanagi, who is based in Fukushima. Nukata and the members of Nutomic stayed several times in Fukushima and Miyagi, where the Joban Line runs, and conducted research. In addition to actors, several musicians and dancers also participate, aiming to expand stage expression beyond dialogue. It was scheduled to be the largest performance ever by the group, but due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, Yagimisato stopped writing the play and the performance was postponed. A theater company formed in Tokyo in 2016. Based on the question, "What is a performance?," he presents works that expand the framework of performing arts by writing and directing with a musical background. They perform not only in theaters but also in various spaces such as galleries and outdoors. Its director, Nukata Taishi, has won the Grand Prize at the 16 AAF Drama Awards and the Best Director Award at the Komaba Agora Director Competition in 2018.
