Business Overview

An ensemble aiming at a new form of modern music presentation led by Tokyo-based koto player McQueen Tokita Miyama. The members gather artists working in various genres such as jazz, classical, tango, indie, improvisation, flamenco, and Japanese music, and explore avant-garde music that a wide range of audiences find interesting. Through commissions to young aspiring composers, the 17 stringed Soh, one of Japan's traditional instruments, is positioned at the forefront of modern music and presented as an instrument that can freely express itself globally without being bound by genre. In the first performance held at Shinjuku PIT INN, they performed works by Aaron Choulai from Papua New Guinea, who lives in Tokyo, and Alyssa Aska from the United States, who lives in Austria. In addition, they performed a piece by the late bassist Toru Saito, who opened a new path in the Japanese improvisation world.
