Business Overview

“The World Drawn by José ” Gallery OGU MAG will hold an exhibition of original paintings from the animation movie“ José, the Tiger and the Fishes ” which will be released in the winter of 2020 by painter and picture book author Nanako Matsuda. There will be about 50 exhibits including pictures drawn by the main character José and the picture book "Ningyo to Kagayaki no Tsubasa". (Admission is free) From Friday, February 11 to Monday, February 28, “José, the Tiger and the Fish ” will be shown at Cinema Chupki Tabata, a Universal Theater about an eight-minute walk from OGU MAG+.

Profile

【 Nanako Matsuda 】
Born in Hokkaido in 1985. He was a painter. He is a picture book writer. In 2009, he graduated from Sapporo Otani University Junior College, Department of Fine Arts. In the same year, he received the New Artist Award at the 73 New Works Exhibition. In 2011, he completed a master's degree in painting at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tama Art University. In 2012, she won the 1st MOE Picture Book Grand Prix at Hakusensha and made her picture book debut with "Chocho" (by Kaori Ekuni/Hakusensha, 2013). This work was exhibited at the Bratislava International Picture Book Original Art Exhibition in 2015. He lived in the Kingdom of Morocco in North Africa for 2 years from 2015 to 2017. After returning to Japan, she worked in various media such as magazines and advertisements as well as picture book production based in Tokyo. His works are shown at solo and group exhibitions, and he also holds art classes and workshops for children. He worked on the illustrations in the 2020 animated film "José, the Tiger and the Fishes."
