Business Overview

The festival, which is one of the cultural foundations of the region, aims to delve into the lifestyle and culture of the region, contribute to the dissemination of regional history and the appreciation of cultural objects, and stimulate activities by local residents. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's exhibition played an important role in dispelling the sense of closure caused by the cancellation of the Kanda Festival and creating opportunities for local people to interact. Under the theme of “Wishing for the Eradication of Epidemics, ” the film delves into the impact of the pandemic on Edo's lifestyle and culture, as well as how the people of Edo tried to overcome the disaster by creating various forms of wisdom, ingenuity, and culture. In addition to creating an original prayer map based on "Edo Shinbutsu Gankake Choho-ki" (1814), and exhibiting dolls and printed objects, smallpox paintings, and measles paintings from the Yoshitoku Museum, a project was conducted to bring Mugidono Daimyojin, who fights measles, to the present day with basket work. Together with the newly written columns by the supervisors, Mr. Naoyuki Kinoshita (Director, Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art) and Mr. Masaya Takiguchi (Specially Appointed Associate Professor, Rikkyo University), this book has a rich and highly specialized content. In the event, gallery talks by the supervisors were held in the venue and online. On a special website, a gallery of 360° shots, a making-of video, and a column were published, and the online viewing experience was enhanced.

With the aim of creating a new base for the transmission of culture and art, in 2010, the private and private art center "Arts Chiyoda 3331" was opened in a closed junior high school. Under the slogan of "Art Center Open to Local Communities" and "Artist Initiative," we operate a variety of projects centered on planning and producing exhibitions, events, and regional revitalization activities related to art and culture.
