Business Overview

"Taiwan Experimental Films and the Present" The works of experimental filmmakers active in contemporary Taiwan will be screened at late shows for one week. Shown alternately are a collection of works by Wu Jian and a collection of short films by young Taiwanese artists. 10 artists, 17 films, almost all screened for the first time in Japan. Materials will be distributed free of charge to visitors. Due to the spread of COVID-19, it was not possible for the audience to interact with the artists, but they were able to meet Japanese and Taiwanese artists for the first time through online talks. [Special Feature on History, Memory and Preservation] Five video works on history and archives for LGBTQ people will be shown, and all the talk events, articles and photo works will be available online. Before thinking deeply about archives (for that reason), I also wanted to make you aware of how "history" is made and how our history, records and memories have been and are being stolen. Tickets start at free so people of all economic backgrounds can attend. Main artists, guests, staff: Azuan Au, Yuri Muraoka, Yuka Kanno, Yuri Manabe, Taro Masushio, Sam Ashby, etc.
