Business Overview
"Gendai Hogaku" Ko "is a professional musical troupe founded by members of the NHK Hogaku Technician Training Association. It was established to reevaluate and revitalize the vast archive of contemporary Japanese music and to actively introduce the works of contemporary composers. Program 1. 【 Ensemble of NHK Traditional Japanese Music Technicians Fostering Society, Contemporary Traditional Japanese Music “Ko ”】
NHK Traditional Japanese Music Technicians Fostering Society has produced many famous performers from 1955 to 2010 with the aim of cultivating performers who are ready to respond to modern traditional Japanese music works across schools. In order to further deepen their knowledge and activities on“ contemporary traditional Japanese music, ” they held auditions from graduates, selected members, and formed “Contemporary Traditional Japanese Music“ Ko ” as a professional performance group.
In the Japanese music scene after the World War II, the group's main activities are to rediscover modern Japanese music that has left a huge archive and revitalize it as a modern heritage to be passed on to the future, and to actively introduce and commission ambitious new works by modern composers with high requirements through outstanding performances.
