Business Overview
The international dance troupe "Asia Butoh Tree Team Asia" held a four-day dance camp in Chiang Mai, Thailand with the general public and presented their results at Work in Progress. "Asia Butoh Tree Team Asia" is a dance group consisting of Malaysians, Thais, Indonesians, Hong Kongers and Japanese. After regular training, they aim to create "Asian dance" by themselves and share it to the world. They are planning to launch in 2020. The dancer Yuko Kawamoto started the "Asia Butoh Tree Project" in 2010 with the aim of developing the spread of dance into a networked movement mainly in Southeast Asia, and the activities of the "Asia Butoh Tree Team Asia" are to promote this project concretely. Established in 2000. His works exploring avant-garde dance expressions that evolve with the times are highly regarded overseas.
The representative, Yuko Kawamoto, has been engaged in creative activities and popularization of dance with the motto of exploring the possibilities and diversity of dance by analyzing the dance of Hijikata inherited as a disciple of Tatsumi Hijikata. Also, with his thoughtful acting skills, he has expanded his activities outside of dance.
