Business Overview
The Chofu Citizens' Kabuki Performance is a place for Chofu Citizens' Kabuki to learn about the traditional Japanese art of Kabuki in detail as a part of their lifelong learning, and to present the results of their year-long training. At the same time, it provides local residents with opportunities to see authentic Kabuki stages modeled on the Dai-Kabuki performed at the Kabuki-za Theater and the National Theater. [Chofu City Culture and Community Foundation]
The Chofu City Culture and Community Foundation, based at the Chofu City Culture Hall Tatsukuri, Chofu City Green Hall, and Chofu City Senkawa Theater, carries out projects for the promotion of art and culture, as well as projects for the development of citizens' independent cultural activities, the promotion of community activities, and lifelong learning to meet diverse learning needs, thereby contributing to the improvement of citizens' culture and the development of the local community.
Chofu Citizen Kabuki was formed mainly by the graduates of the "Kabuki Classroom" lifelong learning course of the Chofu City Culture and Community Promotion Foundation. While studying Kabuki as a lifelong learning course, they perform once a year, as well as mini performances at welfare facilities and backstage tours.
