Business Overview
This work depicts half of the life of Shigure HASEGAWA, a novelist who was active from the late Meiji period to the early Showa period. Shigure, a pioneer of 'female playwrights,' was exposed to literature from her childhood and developed progressive ideas, but she endured the contempt she received for being a woman, such as getting married undesirably by her parents' arrangement. Later, he became a successful writer and playwright, and published "Nyonin Geijutsu" (Women's Arts), a magazine by women for women, aiming at women's emancipation and social advancement. In this movie, all the characters were played by male actors, such as the main character Shigure HASEGAWA played by Ryuichi TSUKUBA and Shigure's best friend Yachiyo OKADA played by Ken IWAI. It was an attempt to reverse the life of a woman who had no choice but to live within the confines of a male society.

In order to ensure the quality of the production, "Onsen Dragon" is produced by a fixed group of actors. The company has two playwrights and regularly performs original works. Through his creative performing arts, he challenges, questions, and delves into themes that are universal to humanity, such as "life and death," "loving others," and "what a nation is."
