Profile

【 Kunitachi Culture and Sports Promotion Foundation 】
The purpose of the Kunitachi Culture and Sports Promotion Foundation is to contribute to the development of local communities and the formation of rich lives for citizens. (Project (1)) Tachikawa Sosousha, which plans and produces the Kunitachi Gei Elementary School 123 Theater, is a base for cultural creation activities where professionals gather using the school building of Tamagawa Elementary School, which was closed in 2004. We are developing a wide range of programs with people who are responsible for culture and local residents, mainly in the Tama area, and disseminating information widely in cooperation with each facility.
(Project (2)) Yoko TawadaThis series introduces the wide range of creative activities of Yoko Tawada, a writer from Kunitachi City. The theme of this fourth event is to explore the possibilities of language, and citizens will present their own sentences related to Kunitachi City, written by citizens, in their own free reading and format, and Mr. Tawada will give his comments.
(Project (3)) This stage creation series pursues the possibility of creating as a local cultural facility. This is the first installment of the series, featuring two plays by Kunitachi native Yoko Tawada as lead plays, with directors Tomoko Kawaguchi and Yuna Koyama, currently active in Japan and overseas, producing one play each.
