Profile

Nishi-Tokyo-shi
Nishi-Tokyo-shi is a city created by the merger of Tanashi City and Hoya City in 2001. It is located almost in the center of the Musashino plateau, 20 minutes from Ikebukuro Station, 25 minutes from Seibu Shinjuku Station, and 20 minutes by bus to Kichijoji, Mitaka, and Musashisakai on the JR Chuo Line.
The population as of October 1, 2019 was 204,658 and has been increasing since the merger.
In order to be selected as a "city where people want to continue living" or "city where people want to live," the city is promoting town development by incorporating the "health" perspective into all measures.
