Business Overview
As part of the cultural events of the Turkish Year of Culture 2019, the National Opera Ballet of the Republic of Turkey will present a new ballet performance entitled Pili Reis. Depicts half the life of navigator Piri Reis, a 16 century Ottoman naval officer who made his name in world history by creating the most advanced world maps and navigation manuals. A new attempt to express the world view set in the Orient with a ballet based on Western culture. Historically and geographically, it has played the role of a bridge between Eastern and Western cultures, and is a stage work unique to Turkey. It consists of two acts including scenes such as the first voyage, victory in Rhodes, a map of the world drawn in hermitage, love in Egypt during an expedition, survival from a storm and an audience with the Sultan (performance time: approximately 80 minutes).
