FY 2019 Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL Grant Term 1

Business Overview

Saison Rouge~Weekend in Paris-Tokyo was held for the first time last year in 2018 as part of the Paris-Tokyo Culture Tandem 2018 project in collaboration between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the City of Paris, and Anstitue Francais. Over 5 days, various events including music, street dance, and movies were held mainly in the Daikanyama and Shibuya areas, and many citizens, mainly young people with a strong interest in culture and art, participated. In 2019, we will focus on the 2 concepts of diversity and sustainability, and we will implement programs that transcend genres and inspire artists, audiences, and art events. This festival allows participants to experience Paris, an international city where diverse lifestyles and values coexist, through artists who are active at the forefront and who are worthy of embodying Paris. In the future, we aim to further enhance the projects that correspond to this concept, and to mature and develop this festival as a model case, a festival of diverse and sustainable street culture that Japan and France can be proud of around the world.
