Business Overview

Yuko Mori's first solo exhibition at a public institution in Europe. This is the first solo exhibition of an artist from/living in Asia at the venue with a history of 50 years. Curated by the museum's Gina Buenfeld. With an approach to kinetic sculpture and sound installation incorporating improvisation and fluidity, he presented a new context of art from Japan. He also performed with Akio Suzuki and Ryuichi Sakamoto during the exhibition.

Profile

Mori Yuko
Born in 1980. Artist. He created an installation that senses invisible and untouchable forces such as magnetism, gravity, and light. He has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Japan and abroad, including the Asia Pacific Triennial 2018 (Australia), the Lyon Biennale 2017 (France), the Coach-Musillis Biennale 2016 (India), and the Yokohama Triennale 2014 (Kanagawa). He won the Nissan Art Award Grand Prix in 2015, the Kanagawa Culture Award Future Prize in 2016, and the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Newcomer Award 67 Art Encouragement Prize in 2017.
