Profile
Established in 2007. Written and directed by Yamamoto Takutaka. The creation of stories, such as life and death, sensation and language, group society, and family, starts with the object of interest each time, and goes further and accesses universal "questions". In recent years, he has attracted attention for his unique direction, which combines the elements of characters, photographs, colors, lights, shadows, etc. projected on the stage with actors, and for his powerful scripts, which shake the moral sense of the audience. He has also performed in Malaysia, Thailand, India, China, the United States, and Singapore, and has expanded his activities overseas. Won the Bangkok Theatre Festival 2014 Best Screenplay and Best Film awards for Young Woman X. Yamamoto spent six months in New York in 2019 as a recipient of a fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council (ACC) under the U.S.-Japan Arts Exchange Program.
