Business Overview
Under the theme of "Distance Around Tragedy", this work is a recreation of Yukio Shiba's theatrical work "I'm Not Sad Because You're Far Away" (2017), which was performed at the festival/Tokyo 17 as an international co-production between Japan and Taiwan, with Taiwanese actors and staff. In Japan, it was held in two theaters next to each other, but in Taiwan, it was also held in two adjacent theaters in Taipei's only National Taipei University of the Arts. Furthermore, last year, both theaters used the same play, but in this work, separate plays were used in each theater, and the play was performed with a greatly revised play and a newly written play. It was a radical attempt to launch two works at the same time, centered on the two main characters in their respective worlds, the world "outside the tragedy" and the world "inside the tragedy", while going back and forth between adjacent theaters. ◉ CAST Fa, Yu Pei-jin, Du Sihui, Shi Xuanhui, Cui Taihao, Chen Yien, Huang Caiyi, Zhao Yilan, Cai Genyan, Yang Jiaen ◉ STAFF Written and directed by Yukio Chai Producer: Chen Hanqing Art: Takuya Aoki Music: Ke Zhihao Costumes: TRAN Izumi International Co-production: Festival/Tokyo, Taipei Performing Arts Center Grants: Ministry of Culture, Saison Cultural Foundation, Arts Council Tokyo (Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture Co-organizers: Cultural Affairs Bureau, Taipei City Government, Taipei Cultural Foundation, Taipei Performing Arts Center Planning, production, and organizers: Shamei Studio, Reenactment Theater Company, mamagoto
