Business Overview

A new performance by Baobab, a dance company led by dancer, choreographer and actor Kitao Wataru. Under the theme of "sports," the dancers are regarded as athletes and the stage space as the field, and the negative aspects hidden from the light of the Olympics and Paralympics ... confronting the distorted modern society including war and disability, and exploring the relationship between the body and the times. In addition to the eight active main dancers, including Kitao, the ensemble members were selected through auditions for the first time, and the challenge of creating a work with a large group was challenged. < Concept > If you think of the dancers as athletes, the stage space may look like a sports field. As they dance, they push their bodies to their limits as if they were playing sports. The landscape goes beyond sports to the struggles of the people themselves. It asks the audience what the struggle is about. They may be the cries of young people resisting modern society, ordinary people struggling to live their daily lives, or warriors on the battlefield. [Performers] Hosaki Tanaka, Yo Nakamura, Takayuki Ueda, Ayane Nakagawa, Shun Nakamura, Reisa Shimojima, Saori Yoneda, Wataru Kitao, ensemble members selected by audition including Kaoru Sato, Natsumi Mase, Minori Fujishima, Rina Kobayashi, Aie Hara, Mai Hasegawa, Romance Hashimoto, Marin Yamada, Sho Ito 17 in total
