Business Overview

The Sakichi Sato Theater Festival is an invitation-type theater festival with a wide range of programs, especially from young theater companies. It is held every two years in Oji, Kita Ward. This time, artists from outside Tokyo and from overseas have been invited to perform a wide variety of high-quality performances of about 30 pieces over 40 days at 10 venues. Through tie-ups with local businesses and shopping districts, and in cooperation with ward volunteers, the festival played a role as a cultural festival involving the entire Oji district in Kita-ku, and as part of the Tokyo cultural program in anticipation of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. [Participating organizations] Piyopiyo Revolution, Stuffed Animal Hunter, X-QUEST, Chromium Molybdenum, etc.

【 Sato Sakichi Theater Festival Executive Committee 】
The Oji Small Theater, which was established in 1998 by Sato Electric Co., Ltd. as a mecenat activity, is a theater that actively supports young artists. The Oji Small Theater established the executive committee in order to hold the 'Sato Sakichi Theater Festival,' named after the founder, as an invitation-type theater festival originating from theaters and not open to the public. Research and selection of artists and organizations that can achieve higher performance results than the year-round project direction at Oji Small Theater. The theater festival has been held every other year since 2004, and this is the eighth time.
