Business Overview
This year's event, the 14 th, will be held at Tokyo University of the Arts Ueno Campus on Saturday, July 2 and 3 (Sun.). For the first time in the history of the Cultural Typhoon, the competition will focus on the practice of art and culture, especially in relation to society, urban organization and globalization. Cultural Typhoon has so far attracted 500-1000 participants every year from all over the world, especially from Asia. This includes keynote speakers. This year's keynote speakers will include sociologist Lawrence Grossberg.

【 Cultural Typhoon 2016 Executive Committee 】
Cultural Typhoon (Cultural Typhoon) has been held every year since 2003 in order to make presentations, hold dialogues, and engage in expressive activities based on a flat relationship between people from various positions, without being bound by the format and system of existing academic societies and symposia. The aim is to create a forum where researchers from inside and outside the university, practitioners of social activities and movements, and artists active in various fields can freely exchange ideas and engage in creative expression on issues related to culture and politics, transcending boundaries of their fields of expertise.
