Profile

[Okazaki Geijutsuza]
A Japanese theater organization based in Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture. It was formed in 2003 by the novelist Yudai Kamisato for the purpose of staging his own works. Kamisato, who was born in Peru and raised in Kawasaki, directs this work, which combines both color and language with the image of the "oppressive" sun of South America, as well as the austerity and nervousness of a new town. In recent years, he has been actively reflecting his attitude toward politics and social situations in his works, while presenting works on the theme of synchronicity with others whom he does not understand.
