Business Overview
Following on from "Present Location" and "Ground and Floor," this book focuses on the social background after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, and expands on "A Journey Through Time in a Room" by looking at the emotional conflicts and arbitrary emotions of individuals before the rupture in society occurred. In the aftermath of the disaster, people felt not only sadness and anxiety but also hope that the world would improve. The words of pure hope spoken by the ghost, who died with such a sense of dread for the future, annoy those who continue to live in the present, where it seems impossible to have hope, and make them want to close their ears and turn away their eyes. Through Okada's words and the actor's body, which have become more intense than ever before, these invisible emotional conflicts and sufferings form a close and multilayered relationship with the sound and space in which minute hints are exuded by the contemporary artist Takeshi KUMON, and appear as scenes that make viewers feel as if they are able to grasp their emotions.
