Profile
[Tokyo Kagurazaka Kumiai]
In 1973, the organization changed from Ushigome Sangyokai, the predecessor of our union, to Tokyo Kagurazaka Kumiai, which consists of geisha unions and Japanese-style restaurants. The Kagurazaka Odori was started as the “Ushigome Satsuki-kai ” in 1963, and was held every 1 to 3 years until 1993. After a period of suspension, it was restarted as the“ Hana-no-kai ” in 1999, and was renamed the “Kagurazaka Odori ” in 2007, and has been held 34 times. It has also been designated as a regional cultural property of Shinjuku Ward since 2011.
