Profile
[Joe Kondo 70 year anniversary concert executive committee]
Since 1973, Joe Kondo has consistently composed music using a methodology called "music of lines." The notes and chords are arranged in chronological order, where the flickering rhythmic technique contrasts with the vivid timbre, inviting the listener into a labyrinth of sounds. Because of this methodology, Kondo's works are extremely difficult to perform, and it cannot be said that he has had enough opportunities to perform them compared to the quality and originality of his works. This committee was formed by musicians, composers, and critics who came into contact with Kondo's work to make a dent in this situation. The goal is to create new performance manners for Kondo's works and pass them on to future generations through the collaboration of experienced performers and talented but inexperienced young people.
