In 2017, 200 years after the death of Kengyo YAMADA, the founder of the school, a program consisting only of Kengyo YAMADA's works including rare pieces was performed by leading musicians of the day. [Shoin HAGIOKA]
Succeeded from Shoin HAGIOKA in 1980. 90: He published the first issue of "Fuzokushoka Shusei," a book of Yamada school koto music (227 songs in total). 92: A collection of Yamada-ryu koto uta togin, "Kadensho" (80 songs), was released by NHK Service Center. In 2002, he was awarded the Rookie of Japanese Music Award of the 23 Matsuo Geino Awards and the Excellence Award of the Arts Festival by the Agency for Cultural Affairs for 'The First Hagioka Shoin Risaitaru.'. 2005: Received the 55 Fine Arts Award from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. 2009: Received the Pola Award for Excellence in Traditional Culture. 14: Received the 3rd Katsusuke NAKAJIMA Creative Prize. He was the head of the Hagioka school of Yamada school of sokyoku. He was the chairperson of Hagioka-kai. He is a professor at Tokyo University of the Arts. He is the vice president of the Japan Sankyoku Association. He is the vice chairperson of Yamada-ryu Sokyoku Kyokai. He is a director of the Contemporary Japanese Music Composers Association. He was a lecturer at the Seiha School of Music. He was a member of 'Ko no kai.'.
