Profile

[Ami Yamamoto]
25 string zither player. As a trainee of the Agency for Cultural Affairs' Domestic Training System for Emerging Artists, he studied the 25-string koto with Mr. Joju Nosaka. Since then, he has mainly worked as a 25-string koto player. He expands his range of expression more freely by incorporating new contemporary music premieres, piano percussion, whistling, improvisation with paint, songs and narration, and adding voices. In 2015, he released his solo album "Tsumugu". In January 2016, he received a grant from Arts Council Tokyo and successfully performed solo in New York.
