In 2016, it will be 100 years since the birth of Minamio Shibata and 20 years since his death. Profile
[Kazuki Yamada]
He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2003 and studied under Kenichiro KOBAYASHI and Yoko MATSUO as a conductor. He won the 2009 Besancon International Conductors Competition. He received the Idemitsu Music Award in 2011, the Akio Watanabe Fund Music Award, the Hideo SAITO Memorial Fund Award, and the Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival New Talent Award in the Music Category in 2012. He is currently a principal conductor of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, music director of the Tokyo Mixed Choir, principal guest conductor of the Swiss Romand Orchestra, and artistic and music director of the Monte Carlo Philharmonic since September 2016.
