Business Overview

This is the first joint production based on dialogue and exchange between Malaysian and Japanese performing artists that has been ongoing since 2014. Based on a play that depicts the life and family of a Chinese woman who immigrated to the Malay Peninsula at the beginning of the 20 century, this film uses new interpretations and expressions to depict contemporary "family." What does it mean for a woman to build a career and have a family, to live with respect for multiculturalism and diversity? I would like to discover new values through this work that asks real questions even for us today. Profile

[Asian Women's Performing Arts Congress Executive Committee]
The Asian Women's Performing Arts Congress Executive Committee (Ajokai) is a collective of artists, producers, translators, researchers, film directors, and other members from Asian countries. In Asia, with its diverse ethnicities, societies, languages, cultures, and histories, we collect women's voices and various events, and communicate them to society through performing arts, which are mirrors of the world. We will contribute to the realization of a multicultural society in which people can live with mutual respect by expanding the circle of members and partners both in Japan and overseas, and by building relationships in which people can communicate and help each other.
