Business Overview

"'Gen' Kubi: Music and Literature" is a project that aims to create a new form of musical space by connecting words and sounds. The purpose is to create music by words and instrumental performance, to organize a program based on it, and to hold a series of concerts. In fiscal 2016, the project focused on Shakespeare's comedies. When you read Shakespeare's works, you not only enjoy the world of stories and words, but also feel the deep heart of Bach's compositions in the context of Western music. 400 years after Shakespeare's death, he plunged into the vast ocean of Shakespeare's works and explored the relationship between language and sound while being tossed around by the waves. By reconstructing and transmitting Shakespeare's works from a musical perspective, I hope to raise questions about what language and music are. Period of Activity/Project will be divided into 2 parts. <Vol. 1> will feature Kuwabara Yu's new work based on the comedy of mistakes, and <Vol. 2> will feature Taguchi Kazuyuki's new work based on 12 nights.
