Business Overview
"The Book of Job," which is the motif of this play, is a book included in the Old Testament with the theme of "hardships of righteous people." It is an outrageous story in which a man who has lived a blameless and good life is subjected to unparalleled suffering from God and his faith is questioned. But is it not possible to say that such extreme unreasonableness is the way to realize the unmitigated affirmation of all existence? In today's highly capitalist society, all values are regarded as "things that can be measured" and "things that can be exchanged for equivalent things." But in a world where the only way to show your value is to earn positive things, it's hard. At a time when words such as performance-based accounting, independent accounting, and self-responsibility have worked in the direction of increasing intolerance toward the weak, this work reexamines the value of "mere existence" itself. Writer/Director: Kaori Nishio Starring: Shoko Takei, Kosuke Asai (Wasshoi House), Mika Kuroiwa (Kirin Bazuka), Akira Torishima (Haegiwa), Keita Yamashina
