FY27 Term II Creation Grant [Single-year grant program]

Business Overview

This project, "Generated Images," will exhibit works on the theme of the possibility of generating and inverting images in the post-digital age. Since March 2014, I have been working in London under the Agency for Cultural Affairs Overseas Training Program for Emerging Artists (2 years), and I consider this exhibition, my first solo exhibition in the UK, to be the culmination of my 2 years in London. In this exhibition, we aim to create an exhibition for the purpose of experiencing images by utilizing the characteristics of the exhibition hall consisting of two rooms across the corridor, and developing a three-dimensional installation of photo prints and an installation focusing on video works in each room. During the exhibition, in addition to the opening reception, a talk event with internationally active curators will be held in conjunction with PHOTO LONDON, the largest photographic art fair in the UK, which will be held in mid-May. The aim is to interact with visitors and present the practice of contemporary photography by Japanese artists to a large audience.
