Business Overview

As a koto performer, I will be holding four performances and one workshop in New York. Since 2013, I have been creating a world of music and video with the group "Strings & Serpents," a piano duo (Andy Milne and Benoît Delbecq), a koto duo (Aio Kajigano and Ami Yamamoto), and video (Saki Muroya). Last year, I successfully toured North America, and to plan a new tour from 2017 onward, I have gathered in New York to perform and create. In addition, to broaden my solo activities as a 25-string koto performer and to convey the instrument's characteristics and future potential, I will be holding a solo concert and workshop at "Globus Washitsu," the artistic base of Stephen Globus, who promotes Japanese culture to New Yorkers. I also plan to collaborate with the work of New York-based painter Hisao Hanabusa. Stings & Serpents: Andy Miline (Pf), Benoit Delbecq (Pf), Kajigano Aio (17-string koto), Yamamoto Ami (25-string koto), Muroya Saki (video) (Kajigano Aio and Muroya Saki will not be participating this time. Kimura Reikano (koto) and Calvin Herzig-Anderson will be participating as lighting staff.)
