Business Overview

As part of a Japan-Italy cultural exchange project, the Sakura Komachi Wagakudan, a group of women who play traditional Japanese musical instruments, will be sent to five Italian cities for performances. In particular, the performance at Ravenna is an official invitation from the world-famous Ravenna Music Festival as a Japanese traditional music group, and is a valuable opportunity to introduce Japanese traditional performing arts overseas.

Profile

Our association was established in November 2007 as a voluntary organization, the Traditional Japanese Culture Salon Gingi-kai. In September 2009, the association was launched as the General Incorporated Association for the International Exchange of Traditional Japanese Arts to contribute broadly to society. our association's board members include Haruo Misumi, chairperson of the Society of Performing Arts, as honorary chairperson, Hideo Shimoda, former chief producer of traditional performing arts at NHK, and Katsuo Suzuki, former managing director at Isetan. The organization is active in promoting Japanese traditional culture and art in Japan, international exchange, and the sound development of young people in particular.
