FY26 Term I Creation Grant [Single-Year Grant Program]

Business Overview

This is the second edition of the concert, which emphasizes the transmission of traditional and orthodox nagauta, but also aims to make nagauta more accessible and enjoyable. This time, with the theme of Tsuchigumo, an ancient Japanese specter that is frequently taken up as a theme in Kabuki and Nohgaku, in addition to Nagauta performances, Nohgakushi and commentators are invited to delve into Tsuchigumo in detail. In addition, it is a highlight that it is played through a trilogy of "Tsuchigumo, Ue, Naka and Ue," which has become difficult to play recently as a program of Nagauta. Performers: Toshimitsu KINEYA, Yusuke KINEYA, Shinjuro KATATA and others. Commentary: Michitaka TAKEUCHI
