FY 2014 Phase I Tokyo Arts and Culture Promotion Grant (Single Year Grant Program)

Business Overview

This is their first tour in two years, gathering actors from all over Japan and "connecting" with people from all over the country through theater. Welcome the beginning and end of your journey at Jikido's platform Tokyo. "Exchange through theater" is realized at any time, including recruiting performers in five cities nationwide, opening the creative process to the public, and holding exchange events. The program is a newly written work by Seri KUROSAWA. Using the birth of nuclear power plants as a theme, the film sheds light on the illogical thinking and intolerance that people today tend to fall into. Is it really possible to listen to and accept each other's opinions instead of ignoring and denying differences of position and opinion? "collision and division or fusion" Script and direction: Seri Kurosawa < Tour members > Takao Kanno, Koji Suzuki, Ayumi Awaya, Yoshinobu Matsui (Jikido) Naoo Kurozumi (from Osaka), Mayumi Tajima (from Tokyo), Fumiko Tomita (from Fukuoka) < Tokyo cast > Saeko Ozaki, Yuzuri Kamiya, Yayoi Nakatani, Yuko Nakayama, Koya Maekawa, Yoshinobu Mishima Assistant producer: Minami Nagase Producer: Haruka Omori

Profile

[Jikido]
Established in 1997 as a unit of director Seri KUROSAWA.
Believing that the most interesting thing is "a play with a relationship between a good book and a good actor," he develops his work based on actor training using the Meisner technique, and performs a wide range of works from classics to newly written works by up-and-coming writers.
In 2014, he opened a studio, Toiroan Jikkoan. Through nationwide tours and workshops, he is also working hard to popularize plays and train actors.
The watchword is "Great, normal theater. a normal, great play."
