FY26 Term I Creation Grant [Single-Year Grant Program]

Business Overview
At the invitation of the theater festival "AURUSUPOTO Shakespeare Festival 2014" hosted by the Toshima Ward Performing Arts Exchange Center "AURUSUPOTO," we performed an original play written by Takashi Masuyama, a representative of the theater company Kodai Ojin, based on "Macbeth," one of Shakespeare's four great tragedies. The film focuses on two princes who escape to another country after Macbeth kills their father. I think that flight or escape from one's homeland is one of the very current themes, people who were evacuated from their hometown due to the Great East Japan Earthquake and people who had to abandon the land where they were born due to the nuclear accident in Fukushima. Turning to the world, civil wars and wars force people to flee. There are too many examples. In this work, the two princes are depicted allegorically, exposing the destruction and rebirth that exist behind the "escape" and examining the "works" of humanity.
