FY 2013 Phase I Tokyo Arts and Culture Promotion Grant (Single Year Grant Program)

Business Overview
Ohashi Kakuya & Dancers have pioneered the forefront of Japanese contemporary dance. Their new work, appearing at Theatre Tram for the first time in three years since "The Rite of Spring" in 2010, is a dance adaptation of "Grand Vacances: Angel of the Abandoned Garden I," a novel by Tobi Hirotaka, one of Japan's leading science fiction writers. Now, at a time when the very existence of art is being questioned in the face of overwhelming reality, Ohashi Kakuya & Dancers will use the fictional power of science fiction to explore the "human form" of our contemporary lives.
