・Program: 'Troilus and Cressida' (Works by W. Shakespeare) Summary: It takes place during the Trojan War. It happened to relieve the shame of a man who was robbed of his wife, and it continues. No matter how valiant the soldiers may be, fighting spectacularly for their cause, the cause is a woman's affair. Troilus and Cressida are united after a Romeo and Juliet love affair, and Troilus goes to battle. Cressida was forced to join the Greeks because her father sided with them. But then Cressida's affair begins. Up Down Production Co., Ltd.
Established in 1984 by Masahiro Yasuda, Shigeshi Ikeda and others as a parent organization of Waseda University Drama Study Group. Since its inception, the group has emphasized the “group creation ” method of actively incorporating the suggestions of actors, and has repeatedly experimented with radical means of expression, such as the“ hyper collage ” method, in which different kinds of elements move simultaneously on the stage.
In December 1993, the company was incorporated as Updown Production Limited (Representative Director: Masahiro Yasuda).
In 1997, he started working on a style of acting called "yotohan" (four-mat style), which expresses modern Japanese people with limited movements.
In April 2002, it opened its own training hall in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo.
In January 2003, a retrospective exhibition will be held at the Waseda University Theater Museum.
In 2004, the theater company celebrated its 20 year anniversary. The commemorative performance "Daoseongji" was performed not only in Korea but also in Suwon, South Korea.
In September 2005, she was invited by Switzerland and Germany to perform in Titan Andronicus.
In October 2005, he was invited by Poland to perform Oedipus @Tokyo in Krakow and Warsaw.
May 2006 Invited by Daejeon City, South Korea to perform Hikari Goke.
In June 2009 he was invited by Romania to perform Titus Andronicus at the Sibiu International Theatre Festival, Bucharest and Rumnik Brcha.
May and June 2010 Invited by the Sibiu International Theatre Festival in Romania and the Pécs Festival in Hungary to perform Oedipus Rex.
In September 2010, they held a triumphant double feature performance of "Titus Andronicus" and "Oedipus Rex" in Tokyo.
In June 2011, he was invited by the Sibiu International Theatre Festival in Romania, Turda and Bucharest to perform Leaning Hunger.
In December 2011, a double feature performance of "Keisei Hangonko" and "Dojoji" was performed in Tokyo.
