Business Overview
The Montreal version of the Waldbune Concert, a summer outdoor concert of the Berlin-Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, was realized as a joint project of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra of Canada and the province of Quebec. As part of the first program, Kent Nagano, the music director, invited Hayashi Eitetsu to perform "Hi-Tenyu" (music: Isao Matsushita) as the main program, and 20,000 people in the audience enjoyed the performance of the Japanese drum and orchestra.

[Hayashi Eitetsu]
Hayashi Eitetsu, who was involved in the founding of "Sado Ondekoza 1971 ~ 1981" and "Kodo" as a central player, created creative drum expression and laid the foundation for Taiko performance, started his activities as a drum solo performer in 82. He made his debut at Carnegie Hall in 84 and gained an international reputation as an unprecedented Japanese drum soloist in the field of contemporary music. He created a solo-playing method of the large drum, which had not existed in Japanese tradition, and established an original expression of the drum, and made the Japanese drum known to the world as an instrument with infinite possibilities and as Japan's first world music.
