Business Overview
The Lin Kwang-Higashi Mix August Festival was first performed in 1980 by the Tokyo Mixed Choir under the direction of composer Lin Kwang-tsu, and has continued to deliver its message from Tokyo to the world for 32 years. On January 5 of this year (2012), Mr. Hikaru Hayashi sadly passed away. This year's August Festival will be held as a special concert centering on "Small Views of the Atomic Bomb" to pay tribute to Mr. Hayashi. Profile
Tokyo Mixed Choir
A professional choir representing Japan, founded in 1956 by graduates of the vocal music department of Tokyo University of the Arts. With concerts at the center of his performance activities, he works to develop and spread choral works in a wide range of fields. Their activities number more than 200 performances a year, including overseas performances. The repertoire includes 200 pieces created through commissioned composition activities since its foundation, as well as all choral works from Japanese and foreign classics to contemporary works. In 2007, he received the Suntory Music Award and the Kenzo Nakajima Music Award.
