Business Overview

Brass bands have a long history of arranging Ravel's orchestral works into brass bands and making them their major repertoire, but brass bands that contain almost no stringed instruments usually do not add to their appreciation.
On the other hand, if it were arranged from a more limited composition, it would inevitably be richer in color and present a more attractive picture of Ravel's music.
With this in mind, he planned a concert of Lovell's piano solo works, vocal works, and chamber works with new arrangements of wind instruments.
It was the 'New Ravel Incident' that made a dent in the repertoire with a spirit of criticism against the wind music world.
