Development and implementation of audio production workshop program for a project to create "listening theater" with sighted and blind people

Business Overview
Two actors working in the theater field and members of the "Art Appreciation Workshop with the Visually Impaired" collaborated to develop a workshop program for creating site-specific "listening theater".
Through a series of test plays and feedback, we have created a program that allows people to create works regardless of their theatrical experience or whether they are blind or not. In the workshop, project members acted as facilitators and created audio with participants who were invited from the public.
Sighted and blind people strolled through the streets and parks and created "listening theater" by expanding their fantasies from the scenery while talking together. We also held a briefing session to review the development process and the workshop, and published the report on our website.

Profile
[Kikutabi Project]
A project to create unusual audio using the power of theater in museums and various other locations.
The group, led by actor Masahiro Oishi, was launched in response to a call from the "Art Appreciation Workshop with the Visually Impaired," an organization that plans and runs art appreciation programs at art museums across the country for sighted and blind people to think about "seeing" through words. By listening to "audio" with theatrical devices in designated locations, the group creates an opportunity for both sighted and blind people to encounter places from various angles.
To date, they have released the "Yokohama Museum of Art Collection Edition" (2018), which was created based on the Yokohama Museum of Art Collection Exhibition; the "HOME Edition" (2021), which was created during the COVID-19 pandemic so that it could be experienced at home or in the neighborhood; and the "Yokohama Elephant Flower Edition" (2021), an audio experience while cruising through Yokohama's parks and harbor.
