Business Overview

Unique restaurants and bookstores gathered for a two-day art event at Shimokitazawa's Bonus Track, which faces the promenade. In addition to the main venue, there were other venues about a three-minute walk away, where exhibitions, talks, performances, and sales of zines and merchandise were held. All the venues are semi-open, no reservation is required, and admission is free, in order to create a place for accidental encounters that is not bound by financial disparities.
Under the concept of "a multimedia art event for resistance," the participants were mainly young artists involved in activism such as decolonism and climate change.
We organized a management team to break away from majority-centric and academia-centric principles, and set ground rules, improved accessibility, and communicated them in advance so that the event itself would be a safe space.

Profile

[Hashimoto Romance]
Born in 1995. He was born in Tokyo. they/them. With themes such as minority politics, queer activism, and decolonism, he develops highly contemporaneous performing arts productions and projects with the aim of connecting the work with society/city as a means of generating resistance and noise.
He sees his work as a device for performers/collaborators to face the subject of the work, and collaborates more with people who have ownership in the work than physical skills.
