Business Overview

The Domei News Agency, which was founded in January 1936 as the parent company of the Nihon Shinbun Rengo (Union), merged with the Communications Department of the Nippon Telegraph and Telegraph News Agency (Dentsu) in June, and was established as a news agency of the Empire of Japan to compete with the Reuters of Britain, the Associated Press of the United States, and the AFP of France. Domei correspondents Ooka, Kuroda and Tanigawa are assigned to the newly established Foreign Intelligence Analysis Office in the Intelligence Department. The mission was to intercept foreign cables and radio signals from the Allied forces, analyze necessary information, and provide information to the Army and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Profile

Seinenza Theater Company
In 1954, 10 young actors from the Haiyuza Theater Company established the Seinenza Theater Company with a strong desire to perform creative plays that reflected the reality of Japan. Currently, there are about 200 members of the troupe and research students. In addition to original plays, it has a wide repertoire including foreign contemporary plays and outstanding works from the past, and aims to contribute to the democratic development of Japanese theater and to the further improvement of Japanese culture through performance activities centered on the performance of original Japanese plays, which has been the basic principle unchanged since its founding.
