This performance is a grand project that overlooks the creative history of Pierre Boulez, a composer who represents the 20 century. It comprehensively traces his unpublished works from his days at the Conservatory of Music, his early masterpieces that opened the curtain on avant-garde music after the war, and his musical achievements to his last years. It was a rare opportunity to experience Boulez's creative path through a demonstration, including works performed with two pianos, works performed with a flute, and many pieces premiered in Japan.
Pianist Oi Hiroaki, a world-renowned contemporary musician, and top Japanese musicians Urakabe Shinji (pianist) and Kanda Hiroaki (flutist) performed together for a total of about four hours.
