Profile

【 General Incorporated Foundation Yashima Flower Culture Foundation 】
'Yashima Flower' is derived from a place name (Yahiro, Mukojima, Kyojima, Terajima, Bunka, Tachibana) related to the north side of Sumida Ward, and it refers to the north side of Sumida Ward (≒ former Mukaijima Ward).
Kyojima 2-3-chome, Sumida Ward, which is the center of activities now, was not damaged by the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Great Tokyo Air Raids, so it is known as a downtown area with many buildings built before and after the war, old houses mainly nagaya (row houses), factories, and alleys. While old buildings and alleys have been preserved and put to good use thanks to the efforts of local people, disaster prevention and vehicle traffic are issues in this area.
The Yashima Flower Culture Foundation carries out various projects with the aim of passing down the culture of life.
