Evaporation Letter in Taiwan
Business Overview
This exhibition was held at the NOW Studio in Taipei as the second part of the experimental video exhibition "Evaporated Letters" by Masa Kudo and Wakahan Zhang held at the Ophthalmology Gallery in Shinjuku, Tokyo in November 2023.
In addition to the loop screening of "Evaporated Letter" (30 minutes), which was re-edited, sound-adjusted, and subtitled in Chinese with new video, related original pictures, photographs, and zines were also exhibited, as well as the screening of "Garagara no Yume" (3 minutes), an installation using an 8 mm film projector.
During the exhibition, special programs were held at the same venue, including screenings of “The Selection of Works by Masa Kudo and Zhang Nyakhan ” and“ The Selection of Works by Visual Letter. ” By introducing the past short works of the organizers and various works in the form of visual letters, we were able to attract a larger audience. The visitors were not only filmmakers and filmmakers working in Taipei, but also local people living in the neighborhood.

[Masa Kudo]
Masa Kudo is an experimental filmmaker who produces images using the animation technique of drawing or filming frame by frame. His films have been screened at the Zagreb International Animation Film Festival and the Tampere Film Festival. Photography New Century 2022 Honorable Mention, Hokkaido Governor's Award at New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival, etc. He is a member of the Analog Media Study Group of the Image Science Society of Japan.
