Business Overview

Since his first stage production 60 years ago (1964), director Makoto Sato has worked on the texts of over 53 overseas plays. This work was reassembled as an original "Documentary Theatre" from the perspective of the "exile on an isolated island" described in Zeami's "The Book of Kinshima" and W. Shakespeare's "The Tempest." It explored the possibilities and impossibilities of the theater in an age of change that could be called civilization-history.

Established in 1990 as a private theater company of Makoto Sato (playwright and director).
The inaugural performance of Cheerhof's "Uncle Vanya" (Haiyuza Theater).
Since then, Haina Müller's "Hamlet Machine" (Avignon, Italy Beer Leggio) and "HER VOICE- With Samuel Beckett's" Happy Days "(invited to Dublin Theatre Festival, Galway, Ireland, Paris, Beijing) have continued their original performing activities both at home and abroad.
